February 8, 2010
London Partner Sarah Linton has been recognized as a leader in the immigration law field by being selected as an author in the recently released book Inside the Minds: Immigration Law Client Strategies in the EU, published by Aspatore Books, a Thomson Reuters business.
Inside the Minds: Immigration Law Client Strategies in the EU provides an authoritative, insider’s perspective on navigating the immigration legal system in Europe. Featuring partners and chairs from law firms across the region, including the U.K., Ireland, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Belgium, these specialists guide the reader through the development of an effective immigration law strategy. The authors offer advice for addressing compliance issues, working with government institutions, managing visa and work permit applications and understanding the consequences of illegal immigration and violating immigration laws. They also discuss recent cases and EU directives, the impact of the economy on immigration policies and successful approaches for working with clients.
At Bryan Cave, Linton advises on all aspects of employment law, including employment contracts, termination agreements, disputes, non-compete and confidentiality covenants, trade union and employee representation issues, European and domestic works councils, strategic European human resources issues, employment aspects of international transactions, data protection and privacy matters, transfer of undertakings issues and employment litigation, including unfair dismissal, wrongful termination, discrimination claims and bonus disputes. She also advises on business-related immigration law.
Prior to training as a commercial lawyer, Linton worked as a journalist in France and the United Kingdom and for one of the United Kingdom’s early satellite television stations. She contributes to legal and other publications on employment law-related subjects, in particular on the transfer of undertakings. She is a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association, the UK Employment Lawyers Association, the Industrial Law Society, the Immigration Law Practitioners Association and the City of London Solicitors Company.
