Kaye Steinsapir's practice includes state and federal discrimination, harassment, retaliation and disability claims, as well as wage-and-hour class and collective actions.  Ms. Steinsapir has represented employers in multiple jurisdictions in federal and state courts, and in administrative proceedings before federal and state agencies. She also works closely with in-house counsel and HR personnel to provide general advice and counseling to clients on a wide variety of employment matters, including terminations, layoffs, wage-and-hour, disability, sexual harassment claims and prevention, and federal and state family and medical leave laws. She has represented clients in a wide variety of industries, including retail, manufacturing, financial services, consumer, entertainment and hospitality.

Ms. Steinsapir also specializes in matters involving trade secrets, unfair competition, employee raiding and breaches of restrictive covenants.  She second-chaired a two-week federal court jury trial, in which the trial team obtained a multi-million dollar judgment against a former high-level employee who departed and formed a competing business.  Ms. Steinsapir was also involved in an arbitration in which a three-member panel enforced a “no-hire” agreement and issued a substantial award in favor of the firm’s client.

Prior to joining Bryan Cave, Ms. Steinsapir worked as an intern in the Employment Litigation Section of the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice and as an extern to the Hon. Thomas B. Donovan, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California.  She also worked as an intern in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein.
