Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Robert C. Welch Volunteer Project Award 2008

Bryan Cave's Kansas City office has been selected by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association as recipient of the 2008 Robert C. Welch Volunteer Project Award. The award is given to a law firm that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the delivery of pro bono legal services to the poor and elderly of the community through participation in the Volunteer Attorney Project (VAP).

Specifically, the VAP recognized Bryan Cave for its Ivanhoe Housing Project. Since 2006, Bryan Cave has worked with the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council to pursue abandoned houses in the urban core. Bryan Cave has contributed more than 1,200 pro bono hours, and more than 31 lawyers have assisted to date on the project. Lawyers have worked with the Neighborhood Council on 65 properties, helping to rehabilitate some and working with residents to resolve abandoned housing.
