James Kousoulas’ practice focuses primarily in the banking and real estate areas, with an emphasis in commercial lending and real estate development. He represents local, regional and national lending institutions in a wide variety of commercial loan transactions, including securitized loan transactions and mezzanine financing. Mr. Kousoulas also represents real estate developers in negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements and negotiating loan documentation.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Kousoulas was a licensed real estate salesperson in California and also worked for a residential mortgage brokerage company. While attending law school, he externed for the Hon. Lynne Riddle, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Santa Ana, Calif., and the Hon. Alex Kozinski, U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Pasadena, Calif. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kousoulas was an associate with another law firm in Irvine, Calif.
