Diversity

Bryan Cave serves clients around the world who deserve and expect advice and counsel from professionals with the vision, footprint and perspective as broad and global as their own. We believe that cultivating a diverse workforce is essential to our clients’ success, and we hold diversity as a core value of the firm.

At Bryan Cave, diversity means a professional home where people of various backgrounds and perspectives gather to achieve their personal best and contribute to the success of the organization and its clients by being their authentic selves. Our differences bring richness to our professional experiences and enable us to better serve our clients.

Bryan Cave’s goal is to have an increasingly diverse workplace. This goal guides our ongoing recruiting efforts and diversity initiatives–from long-standing policies supporting our attorneys’ involvement in diverse bar associations, to more recent commitments, such as the establishment of a new Diversity Committee and the hiring of a Chief Diversity Officer.

The firm has developed an action plan that identifies specific opportunities for enhancing diversity in the areas of leadership commitment, recruitment, retention, promotion and communication. The diversity plan is a call to action–that Bryan Cave do more. It encompasses multiple directives, including:
  • Increased diversity in key firm leadership roles–the Executive Committee and Operating Group, Client Service Groups, recruiting committees and mentoring and training programs
  • More sponsorships of organizations committed to diversity such as, Catalyst, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, the Human Rights Campaign, the National Bar Association and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association
  • Initiation of more diversity-related events by our four affinity groups:
    • Attorneys of Color Group
    • LGBT Affinity Group
    • Women’s Affinity Group
    • Flex-Time Affinity Group
  • Additional recruiting activities aimed toward attracting talent from diverse backgrounds to our firm
