James Wotruba practices general corporate and tax law with emphasis on transactional tax, particularly in areas of partnership, limited liability company and S Corporation taxation. He has advised clients concerning the formation and classification of foreign and domestic limited liability companies, partnerships and joint ventures for United States federal income tax purposes as well as foreign and domestic taxation of property in connection with transfer, lease and licensing arrangements. Mr. Wotruba has advised clients concerning real estate investment trust issues and has analyzed the federal income tax issues of various types of partnership roll-ups. He also counsels clients regarding choice of entity issues and like-kind, tax-deferred exchange issues.
