Iliana Haleen has extensive experience in international intellectual property protection with an emphasis on integrated multijurisdictional brand management. Ms. Haleen frequently handles trademark and design filings with the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, as well as registrations under the Madrid Agreement and Protocol. She has significant experience in defending trademarks in opposition proceedings.
Ms. Haleen manages the international portfolio of nearly 1500 trademarks, registered in over 140 countries, for a US consumer goods company. She counsels US and European clients on the development of cost effective brand strategies and on all aspects of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Ms. Haleen has had primary or significant responsibility in negotiating and preparing international trademark assignments, licenses and settlements. She also counsels on intellectual property rights in connections with mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Haleen also advises generally on Eastern European investment with emphasis on the NIS. She is fluent in English, German, Russian and Bulgarian.
