A registered lobbyist with local, state and federal expertise, Guy Black manages government affairs and provides strategic support within government for the firm and its clients. He has represented Emerson, Leggett & Platt and H&R Block to pass legislation impacting business organizations. Mr. Black also has represented Anheuser-Busch, Boeing, Monsanto, Ford, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, Alcoa, Hussmann and Chevron on energy legislation; Edward Kraemer & Sons on transportation issues; Saddlebrook on real estate matters; Larus Corporation on legislation impacting nursing homes; Harrisonville, Mo. on state regulations impacting municipal governments; TransCanada Corporation, Keystone Oil Pipeline and ANR Pipelines on energy, land use, environmental and labor matters; Ethanex Energy on environmental permitting; Hager Hinge Company on land rights and conservation issues; Noranda Aluminum on economic development and energy matters; Brooke Corporation and Marsh McClellan on insurance issues; and has represented the Missouri Botanical Gardens and Missouri History Museum. He regularly lobbies on regulatory and legislative and local government matters and has advised on political and issue campaigns.
Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Mr. Black served on the staff the Missouri State Senate.
