Frank Wolff’s practice focuses on representation of nonprofit organizations and private business organizations. He has 30 years of experience representing significant nonprofits and private companies in all aspects of their operations.
Many of Mr. Wolff’s representations involve institutions central to the region’s culture and education. He serves as general counsel of both the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Missouri History Museum and as special counsel for the Saint Louis Science Center, Opera Theatre of St. Louis and Webster University. He has served as a trustee of John Burroughs School, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and as a director of BJC Healthcare System.
Mr. Wolff regularly counsels clients on best governance practices, such as the application of the principles of Sarbanes-Oxley as they impact nonprofit organizations. He regularly counsels on executive compensation for nonprofits, including the impact of the Intermediate Sanctions legislation as it impacts nonprofit executives and their organizations.
In addition, Mr. Wolff has experience with legal issues important to private business and has represented family and other closely held businesses in instances where members of the family or other owners have come into conflict.
For many years, Mr. Wolff has been keenly involved with the firm’s business. He has served as the operations partner for the firm and prior to that role, he was leader of the corporate and transactional section of the firm. Mr. Wolff served on the firm’s five-person Management Committee both during his tenure as section leader and as operations partner. Accordingly, he has substantial experience concerning the operation of professional firms. Based on his experience he has advised other professional firms on business issues.
