Darci Madden has experience in the defense and settlement of class actions and complex business litigation, including claims brought under federal and state antitrust laws, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and a variety of consumer fraud statutes. She has participated in motion and trial practice in state and federal courts across the country. Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Ms. Madden was an associate in the civil litigation department at another firm.

Ms. Madden is a member of the firm’s Electronic Discovery Unit, and has lectured on the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure relating to disclosure of electronically stored information. She is a past member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee and currently serves as the St. Louis liaison to the Bryan Cave Women’s Forum.

During law school, Ms. Madden was the executive notes editor of the Washington University Law Quarterly. Ms. Madden is a past president of the Yale Club of St. Louis and a member of the Publications Committee of the Defense Research Institute.

Select Representations

  • Obtained dismissal of a series of class actions alleging that the custodian of self-directed individual retirement accounts invested with Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities breached its contracts with customers and breached common law duties owed to customers by failing to protect the assets.
  • Helped lead the team that successfully defeated the certification of a multi-state class in an indirect purchaser action arising out of the methionine antitrust litigation.
  • Successfully represented client in a series of class action lawsuits relating to the sales of title insurance and related products, alleging violations of RESPA and various consumer fraud statutes.
  • Obtained dismissal for large St. Louis based client of a series of ERISA lawsuits seeking pension benefits for a putative class, including several successful appeals.
