Dedi Firdaus’ experience lies in the areas of customs, international trade and investment in Southeast Asia (ASEAN member countries). He has assisted various parties with issues relating to investment and trade incentives within the ASEAN region, such as import duty incentives offered by ASEAN countries through Common Effective Preferential Tariff (CEPT) Scheme, the ASEAN Industrial Cooperation (AICO) Scheme.
Mr. Firdaus is a former official of the ASEAN Secretariat and the focal point of Trade and CEPT issues with the ASEAN Secretariat. In that capacity he monitored the implementation of the CEPT Scheme for the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) and the ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature. He also worked on issues of standards and quality in ASEAN with the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Standards and Quality (ACCSQ) as well as on Customs with the Expert Committee on Customs Matters (ECCM).
Mr. Firdaus has assisted clients in the application for Customs Bonded Warehouse and exemption duty facilities in Indonesia. He is also actively involved in preparing up-to-date reports on the current policy developments on trade and customs issues related to the automotive, electronic, tobacco and food sectors.
Mr. Firdaus is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) holding the post of Deputy Chairman of Public Policy. His responsibilities with KADIN include acting as a liaison between the private sector and the government on government policy issues.
