Dan Crowe is a litigation and transactional intellectual property attorney. He has handled patent infringement cases, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide range of industries including computer hardware and software, telecommunications, networking equipment, electric motors and controls, business methods, banking/finance, automotive parts and assemblies, product packaging, air handling equipment, medical devices, coin handling equipment, and car haulers. Mr. Crowe also has experience in trademark and copyright infringement cases, including litigation involving non-traditional marks such as trade dress, product configuration and product packaging. In addition, he has extensive experience in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He has counseled and represented clients involving intellectual property issues in a wide range of industries including computer hardware and software, delivery systems, business methods (including banking/finance, general e-commerce, and Internet infrastructure), telecommunications, sensors, lasers and optical systems, medical devices and systems, manufacturing methods, satellite-based aviation systems, footwear, agricultural biotechnology, and various consumer goods. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Crowe has experience with patent and trademark prosecution matters and regularly advises clients on patent validity and infringement issues, including product clearance opinions. He also advises clients on the availability of trademarks for use and registration, negotiates and prepares licenses, and performs intellectual property due diligence in connection with mergers, acquisitions, divestures, initial public offerings, and investments made by venture capitalists.
