Craig Jeffrey practices in the real estate and real estate finance areas. His practice focuses on land acquisition, disposition, leasing and real estate finance. Craig counsels developers, property owners and tenants in the negotiation and preparation of purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, easement agreements and commercial leases. He counsels lenders and borrowers on credit facilities, security documents and related opinion matters. Public and privately held companies select Craig because of the broad transactional experience he brings to bear on real estate and finance projects.

Representative Experience

Acquisition & Disposition

  • Representation of Chicago residential developer in land assemblage in Chicago, Ill.

  • Counsel to purchaser of nine (9) apartment building acquisition in Cook County, Ill.

  • Representation of national fitness chain in numerous acquisition transactions, including addressing title and easement matters, negotiations and closing for multiple sites in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan

  • Representation of National-Louis University in review and pending disposition of real property in several states

  • Advise purchaser in three (3) apartment building portfolio acquisition for which the purchase price was primarily assumption of debt

Leasing

  • Representation of office tenant in multiple lease and sublease agreements throughout US and Canada.

  • Representation of office tenant in build-to-suit lease in Seattle, Wash.

  • Representation of technology company tenant in long-term lease of new headquarters in Chicago, Ill.

Real Estate Finance Transactions

  • Illinois real estate counsel to borrower in connection with $55,000,000 credit facility

  • Illinois real estate counsel to lender in connection with $300,000,000 credit facility for bio-energy company

  • Representation of lender in connection with real estate aspects of $250,000,000 acquisition and construction credit facilities for multi-state four (4) hotel acquisition
