Robert A. Holmes is a partner in the Denver office, where his practice emphasizes commercial real estate law, and he serves as the practice group chair.
Mr. Holmes represents a number of financial institutions in connection with real estate lending, including Assurity Life Insurance Company, Citibank, Citicorp North America, Inc., CoBiz Bank, Commerce Bank, Compass Bank, Great West Life & Annuity Insurance Company, Guaranty Bank & Trust, Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, MidFirst Bank, US Bank, Vectra Bank and Wells Fargo. The financing transactions Mr. Holmes has been involved in include construction lending, permanent lending, mezzanine lending as well as the restructuring of existing loans.
Mr. Holmes also represents purchasers, owners and developers of real property in all aspects of the ownership and use of real estate for over twenty-five years. This includes residential, multi-family, commercial, retail and office development. Mr. Holmes has also established covenant controlled communities for residential, commercial, multi-use, and resort properties. Mr. Holmes’ practice in this area includes the ongoing representation of developer clients such as Alliance Commercial Partners, RidgeGate Investments, Forest City Stapleton, Inc., Total Community Options, Inc., TriPacific Capital Advisors, Weston Solutions, Inc. and other developers and owners of real property.
Mr. Holmes has spoken at a number of educational seminars and written articles on topics including buying and selling commercial real estate, financing real estate and loan documentation, foreclosures, workouts and receiverships, leasing real estate, and common interest communities. He has published "Public Trustee Foreclosure in Colorado," the 2nd and 3rd editions for CLE in Colorado, Inc., and he continues to update that book.
