Ben Allen focuses his practice in the public policy and government affairs and commercial litigation areas. He graduated from the University of California – Berkeley School of Law. While a law student, Mr. Allen was a judicial clerk for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, served as the student member of the UC Board of Regents, the system-wide board of directors of the University of California, taught constitutional law in an inner city Oakland high school, and was a summer associate in the firm’s Santa Monica office.
Prior to law school, Mr. Allen was communications director to Congressman José E. Serrano of New York, a community organizer for Los Angeles Unified School District, and a senior program assistant of the Latin America Team at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in Washington, D.C.
Elected in November 2008, Mr. Allen currently serves as a member of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education.
