BTI Consulting Group 'BTI Client Service 30' 2010

12/2009
Bryan Cave has taken high honors for superior client service among law firms serving Fortune 1000 companies in BTI Consulting Group’s 2010 “BTI Client Service 30” list. The list, also known as the “Client Service A-Team,” annually recognizes the law firms delivering best-in-class service. Bryan Cave was ranked No. 13 this year.

Now its ninth year, the “BTI Client Service 30” list rates law firms on the activities clients say drive exceptional client relationships. The results are based on more than 240 one-on-one interviews with corporate counsel.

“Even through this recession, Bryan Cave has continued to focus on what we do best – developing deep, meaningful client relationships,” said firm Chairman Don Lents. “We work hard to know our clients and their businesses. Our ranking on the ‘BTI Client Service 30’ list is a very important confirmation of our emphasis on client relationships and service.”

BTI conducted independent, one-on-one interviews between July 1 and Oct. 1. Overall, general counsel and C-level executives defined 17 activities they use to select and evaluate outside counsel. BTI also asked respondents to delineate, by name, the law firm best at each of the 17 activities driving superior client relationships. This year, clients recognized only 210 law firms for exceptional client service – down from nearly 300 last year.

“This unparalleled drop underscores the ever-increasing value of client service and the ever-present challenge of keeping up with rapidly changing client needs in a stagnant economy,” according to a statement from BTI.
