UMOM New Day Centers Spirit of Philanthropy Award

UMOM New Day Centers has honored Bryan Cave with the Spirit of Philanthropy Award for its contributions to the organization. The award was created in 1991 to provide charitable organizations the opportunity to honor an organization that truly exemplifies the spirit of philanthropy.

UMOM New Day Centers is the largest shelter for homeless families in the state of Arizona. Offering both emergency and transitional shelter, New Day Centers serves nearly 400 individuals, of which more than 60 percent are children.

As the name sponsor for the annual UMOM Mother’s Day Gala, Bryan Cave has underwritten the expenses and provided leadership for the event since 2006. A rotating group of Bryan Cave Phoenix office attorneys and staff help with the UMOM gala each year, and Partner Pam Gates is on the executive committee of UMOM. Bryan Cave’s extensive help allows all proceeds from the annual Mother’s Day Gala to directly benefit the UMOM New Day Centers.

The award was presented Nov. 12 at the 24^th Annual Philanthropy Leadership Awards Dinner of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Arizona Chapter. The Arizona Chapter represents more than 300 members in a network of charitable organizations, consultants and vendors to the non-profit sector, including UMOM New Day Centers. The Philanthropy Leadership Awards Dinner is held each year in concert with National Philanthropy Day.
