Austin Campriello has been a prosecutor and is a defense attorney. Mr. Campriello has tried cases and argued appeals in federal and New York state courts where the charges have ranged from racketeering, terrorism and murder to extortion, bribery, fraud, tax evasion and perjury; from kidnapping, counterfeiting and assault to the sale and possession of narcotics and conspiracy. He has conducted investigations into many areas of fraud and municipal corruption, and has successfully represented clients in various investigations including inquiries into criminal antitrust, Medicaid fraud and conflict of interest charges.
Mr. Campriello has written extensively on many aspects of criminal litigation and was an adjunct professor of law at Fordham Law School. He is a past chair of the Criminal Court Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and is a member of the Board of Directors and a past president of the New York Criminal Bar Association.
Mr. Campriello was part of a team that successfully challenged Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr’s subpoena of Barnes & Noble for any records it had relating to book purchases by Monica Lewinsky. He also was part of the trial team that recently defended former Tyco CEO L. Dennis Kozlowski.
